Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthetist for a compelling 111-day locum tenens assignment in California, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This role primarily involves providing comprehensive OR coverage and participating in night and weekend call. Scheduled day shifts run from 7am to 3pm, with call being optional for weekends and nights, focusing on diverse cases within a critical access hospital setting where independent practice is key.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide OR coverage and participate in night and weekend call duties.
  • Cover daytime cases with optional night call.
  • Be available for optional 24-hour call on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Practice independently within a critical access hospital setting.
  • Manage operations for ORs daily.
  • Treat adult, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations.
  • Perform general and regional anesthesia, including Subarachnoid, Epidurals, and Peripheral nerve blocks for upper and lower extremities.
  • Execute line and airway placement procedures such as Peripheral IV/Arterial Line placement, Central Venous catheter placement, and Advanced airway management.
  • Manage a varied case load including Ortho (total joint, knees, and shoulders), General surgery, Endoscopies, ENT, Peds, and Outpatient/ambulatory procedures.
  • Note: This position does not involve spines, neurosurg, vascular, or OB cases.
