Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, beginning Nov 16, 2026. This Physician role involves 24-hour call shifts from 7a to 7a, providing comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical call coverage and managing complex cardiac and thoracic surgical cases and consultations for our client.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide CT Surgery call coverage managing cardiac and thoracic surgical cases and consultations.
  • Perform general CV/thoracic surgery (Open, Endoscopic).
  • Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery (On pump, Off pump).
  • Address congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.).
  • Execute valvular repair and replacement procedures.
  • Repair cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysms.
  • Perform lung resection, including VATs.
  • Handle chest wall, pleural, esophagus, and diaphragm surgeries.
  • Place permanent pacemakers, AICD, Left ventricular assist devices, TAVR, CABG.
  • Manage vents and perform bronchoscopy.
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume/blood pressure issues.
  • Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABPs.
  • Perform general vascular surgery (Open, Endovascular) and aneurysm repair - aorto-abdominal.
  • Conduct bypass procedures (aorto-femoral/iliac, Fem-pop) and endarterectomies (Carotid, Renal).


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery is required.
  • EMR System: Epic.
