Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in California

Our client in California is seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 10-day assignment, with needs extending for ongoing gap coverage. This role involves comprehensive day and night shifts, from 7:30am-6pm and 6pm-7:30am, including clinic work and out of house call. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for rounding on inpatients post-op, serving as first assist in surgery, and managing clinic patients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Rounding on inpatients post-op
• First assist in surgery
• Seeing patients in clinic
• Performing endoscopic and radial artery harvesting
• Interpreting EKGs, X-rays, Labs, ECMO, IABP, and Impella

Additional Information

• Certifications required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Clinic and Call
• Call Schedule: Out of house call
• Patient Volume: 5-8 patients per day
• LOA: 10 Days
• Staffing Mix: 2 PAs/NPs, 3 MAs
