Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 50-day assignment in Ohio, commencing Aug 10, 2026. This role involves 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts, with duties primarily focused on routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valves, and complex aorta procedures, alongside performing vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts.
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy, and VATS.
  • Handle occasional ECMO cases, but no advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
  • Conduct vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.
  • Be available for call shifts, which may require being within 30 minutes of the hospital if local, or staying in a nearby hotel.
  • Address incoming calls, with most handled over the phone and a low chance of being called in physically.


Additional Information

  • EMR: Epic
  • Shift hours: 7 AM - 5 PM rounding or 5 PM - 7 AM call
  • For call shifts, if not local, a nearby hotel stay will be provided.
