Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for an 84-day assignment in California, commencing Aug 31, 2026. This role features a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 AM to 6 PM. The Nurse Practitioner will primarily focus on direct patient care, seeing over 40 patients daily, with comprehensive support from administrative staff handling intake, notes, and orders to ensure efficient patient flow in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

Manage acute and sick visits, including URIs, coughs, sore throats, sinusitis, bronchitis, flu/COVID-type symptoms, ear infections, UTIs, rashes, minor musculoskeletal complaints, headaches, and GI complaints.
Provide chronic disease management for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma/COPD, obesity, and thyroid issues, alongside medication management.
Conduct routine primary care, including physicals/wellness visits, preventive screenings, follow-ups, lab review, prescription refills, and referrals.
Address same-day and walk-in type complaints typical of a rural clinic.
Refer severe cases to a nearby hospital located approximately 10 minutes away.

Additional Information

Work in an outpatient clinic setting.
Anticipate seeing over 40 patients per day, supported by a dedicated team of 2 scribes and additional staff for intake, notes, and orders.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): AdvancedMD.
