Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice Needed in California

We are seeking a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 30-day assignment in California. The client is looking for a dedicated professional to provide full-time coverage, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4 pm. In this role, you will manage sick calls, conduct rounds, perform chronic and preventative care procedures, and handle trauma triage, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage sick calls and conduct patient rounds.
• Execute chronic and preventative care procedures and follow-ups.
• Lead preventative care clinics.
• Provide infirmary rounds for internal medicine cases as needed.
• Perform trauma triage.
• Accurately chart patient notes.
• Process medication refills.
• Conduct morning PA/NP lines, including suture removal and follow-ups.
• Address medication non-compliance with patients.
• Manage chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and provide care for common ailments like colds, coughs, and flu.
• Conduct annual health evaluations.
• Perform initial inmate assessments.
• Execute procedures including laceration repair, toenail removals, incision and drainage (I & D), and suturing.
• Respond to emergencies on the assigned floor when necessary.
• Potentially assist with patient intake.
