Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician Assistant for an inpatient assignment in Massachusetts. This 9-day assignment begins on Sep 1, 2026, with daily shifts from 7 AM to 3 PM, including 7:30 AM rounds. The role primarily involves rounding on sick patients, managing opioid use disorder, coordinating care with external providers, and supporting onsite mid-level staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Round on sick patients, with rounds beginning at 7:30 AM.
• Manage an addiction component for opioid use disorder.
• Possess familiarity with prenatal care, requiring consultation with an OBGYN provider in specific instances.
• Coordinate care with outside hospitals and doctors' offices.
• Provide support to the onsite mid-level staff.
• Conduct rounds for approximately 20-30 patients, focusing on issues and reasons for placement in the medical unit, often for detox.
• Perform significant administrative work, including collaborating with the dental team to clear patients for extractions and extensive emailing.
• See patients occasionally, with a volume of no more than 10 per day.
• Clean medical exam rooms and manage own procedures or cases.
