Job Description

We are seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 65-day assignment in North Carolina. The schedule is typically 8 am - 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel required for shifts from 12 pm - 8 pm. This role involves providing comprehensive primary care, including assessments, routine management, patient education, and coordinating care across various services such as gynecological, prenatal, maternal, and behavioral health.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide primary care for children and adults
  • Deliver gynecological and prenatal care
  • Conduct screenings and administer immunizations
  • Support maternal health, including mother-baby home visiting
  • Engage in farmworker health initiatives and outreach
  • Offer case management and behavioral health services
  • Manage communicable disease protocols and family planning
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order medications, and maintain healthcare plans
  • Counsel patients and families on health maintenance, preventive medicine, and illness care
  • Coordinate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans

  • Staffing Mix: Medical Office Assistants and Nurses in each location
  • Requirements: Licensed as a Physician Assistant (NC Medical Board) or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NC Board of Nursing/Medical Board).
  • Requirements: Successful completion of an accredited PA or NP program.
  • Requirements: Must have knowledge of interviewing techniques, general medicine, and disease states, with the ability to detect abnormalities and accurately record clinical findings.
  • Requirements: Flexibility to travel to a secondary clinic once or twice a week for shifts from 12 pm - 8 pm.
