Locum Tenens Physician - Gastroenterologist Needed in VA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Physician for a 60-day assignment in Virginia, starting Nov 2, 2026. This role involves inpatient GI consults, comprehensive evaluation and management of acute GI conditions, and coordination with various hospital specialties. The schedule includes daily shifts with call responsibilities, focusing on procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, and GI bleed evaluation.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform inpatient GI consults
• Conduct evaluation and management of acute GI conditions
• Coordinate care with hospitalists, surgery, emergency department, and other specialties
• Manage a wide range of acute GI conditions including GI bleeding, abdominal pain, dysphagia, pancreatitis, biliary disease, bowel obstruction/abnormal imaging, and liver disease
• Perform EGD procedures
• Execute colonoscopy procedures
• Conduct GI bleed evaluation and management
• Perform biopsy and polypectomy
