Job Description

We are seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 45-day assignment in New York, starting Oct 1, 2026. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities including surgical first assist duties, dedicated operating room time, and medical surgical floor coverage. You will be actively involved in daily rounding and managing patient orders. Shifts are typically 7A - 5P, with occasional weekend rounding and call nights as needed to meet coverage requirements.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as Surgical First Assist during operating room procedures.
  • Provide Medical Surgical Floor coverage, which includes daily rounding, progress notes, managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consults.
  • Work primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
  • Participate in a variety of cases including robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopy, gallbladder, and appendix.
  • Cover weekend rounding and call nights as needed based on coverage requirements.
