Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - General Needed in NY

Job Description

We are seeking a General Surgery Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment in New York, starting Sep 1, 2026. This role involves 7A - 5P shifts, with some weekend rounding and call, focusing on surgical first assist duties and medical surgical floor coverage, encompassing a diverse range of cases including robotics, OB C-sections, and various general surgeries.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide surgical first assist support in the operating room.
• Perform medical surgical floor coverage, including daily rounding and progress notes.
• Manage orders, admissions, discharges, and consults for patients on the floor.
• Work primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
• Handle a variety of cases such as robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c-sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopy, gallbladder, and appendix.
• Cover weekend rounding and call nights as needed.

Additional Information

• Board Certification in General Surgery required.
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
