Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - General Needed in NY

Job Description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant - General Surgery for a 45-day assignment with our client in New York, starting Oct 1, 2026. This role involves comprehensive surgical first assist duties, operating room time, and medical surgical floor coverage. Shifts are typically 7A - 5P, with weekend rounding and call nights based on coverage needs, focusing on a diverse range of cases including robotics, OB/GYN, and general surgical procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide surgical first assist support in the operating room.
• Cover medical surgical floor duties, including daily rounding, progress notes, managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consults.
• Work primarily with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
• Handle a variety of cases such as robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopy, gallbladder, and appendix procedures.
• Participate in weekend rounding and call nights as needed based on call coverage holes.
