Locum Tenens Physician - Hematologist/Oncologist Needed in Texas

We are seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a 120-day assignment with our client in Texas. The role involves a Monday - Friday 8 AM to 5 PM schedule, complemented by night and weekend 24-hour call, requiring a minimum of two weeks per month. You will manage outpatient chemotherapy orders, consult on diverse hematology/oncology cases, and oversee inpatient chemotherapy for complex conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage outpatient chemotherapy orders.
• Participate in Hematology/Oncology rotations at UMC, a county hospital.
• Consult on solid tumors, benign, and malignant hematology cases.
• Provide inpatient chemotherapy for acute leukemias and high-grade lymphomas, co-managing patients with the Hospitalist or teaching team.
• Collaborate with a full-time pharmacist to assist with chemotherapy orders.
• Adhere to a schedule of Monday - Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, including night and weekend 24-hour call, with a minimum commitment of two weeks per month.

Additional Information

• Board Certifications: Hematology and Medical Oncology
• Other Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• EMR: Cerner
• Setting: Clinic and Call, involving both inpatient and outpatient care
• Call Schedule: Out of house 24-hour call, a minimum of two weeks per month
• Patient Volume: 18-20 patients per day
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: Other Oncologists, APPs, Nurses
