We are seeking a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment in Maryland. This role focuses on covering an inpatient rehab unit with a Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM schedule, ensuring no call, nights, weekends, or holidays. The Physician Assistant will actively manage patient care, including admissions, discharges, rounding with physicians, and shared charting responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Cover the inpatient rehabilitation unit
Prepare patient notes and round collaboratively with the physician
Share charting responsibilities with the physician
Manage admission and discharge orders, typically two of each daily
Provide follow-up care for patients
Care for an older patient population, frequently involving limb salvage, foot injuries, and dialysis patients
Participate in various inpatient rehab programs including Amputation, Brain Injury, Cancer, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Spinal Cord Injury and Disease, and Stroke Rehabilitation
No screening or consult responsibilities are required
