Locum Tenens Physician - OB/GYN Needed in California

Our client in California is seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 120-day assignment. The schedule includes Monday through Friday clinic hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with approximately 5 to 6 monthly 24-hour calls. This role involves covering clinic duties at two locations and hospital call at one facility, encompassing management of high-risk deliveries, VBACs, various outpatient procedures, and both inpatient and surgical cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care across clinic and hospital settings.
• Manage high-risk deliveries and Vaginal Birth After C-section (VBAC) cases.
• Perform outpatient procedures including endometrial biopsies, Nexplanon insertion/removal, IUD insertion/removal, colposcopies, and LEEP procedures.
• Execute inpatient and surgical procedures such as C-sections, D&C, laparoscopic or open hysterectomies, tubal ligations, polypectomies, myomectomies, and endometrial ablations.
• Cover call duties at a hospital with 191 beds and 25-30 Labor & Delivery rooms.

• Setting: Mix of Inpatient and Outpatient (Clinic and Call)
• Call Schedule: Approximately 5 to 6 24-hour calls per month, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a post-call day off. Call is out of house.
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20 to 24 clinic patients per 8-hour shift; 3 to 4 deliveries per 24-hour call.
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: OB/GYN physicians, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives, Registered Nurses, two Medical Assistants per provider, Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator/Registered Dietitian for gestational diabetes management, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (remotely available), Ultrasonographer, Surgery scheduler, Health educators, and Translators.
