Locum Tenens Physician - OB/GYN Needed in California

We are seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Physician for a 5-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Oct 24, 2024. This role involves intermittent 24-hour call coverage across specific dates in October, November, and December, managing inpatient call for vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and GYN surgeries. The physician will be responsible for triages and deliveries, potentially handling high volumes as the sole OB on call within the district's only labor and delivery facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide 24-hour out of house call coverage for inpatient services.
• Manage patient triages, with an average of 12 per day.
• Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections, averaging 3 deliveries per day.
• Manage GYN surgeries during call shifts.
• Serve as the sole OB on call within the facility during assigned shifts, supported by in-house CRNA, support staff, and ER physicians for high volume situations.

• Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• Patients per day: 1-7 deliveries/c-sections (average 3), 7-18 triages (average 12)
• LOA: 5 days
• Staffing Mix: In house CRNA and support staff; provider will be the only OB on call, with ER physicians available for high volume
