Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 6-day assignment starting Sep 11, 2026. This role involves rounding on patients and being on-call for emergent C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and GYN procedures. The physician will be crucial in managing a diverse caseload of obstetric and gynecological needs within a nursery facility, focusing on emergent high-risk situations with transfer protocols in place for specific cases.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients.
  • Be on-call for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Be available for emergent GYN procedures.
  • Address 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period.
  • Perform required procedures including:
  • Low risk pregnancy management.
  • OB Ultrasounds - Performance and interpretation.
  • Routine delivery (Vaginal, Low forceps, Decision-making for c-section).
  • Complicated delivery (C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBACs).
  • Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Office/minor gynecology (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.).
  • Surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOAs, chronal tubation, Operative/major - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs).
  • Maintain Laser certification.
  • Note: High risk deliveries are emergent only, with transfers as needed.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required.
  • EMR: Meditech EHR.
