Locum Tenens Psychologist - AZ Needed in AZ

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychologist for a 52-day assignment with our client in Arizona, starting Mar 9, 2026. This role involves maintaining overall clinical responsibility for mental health programs, overseeing mental health evaluations and screenings, performing sick call visits and rounds, and formulating comprehensive treatment plans. You will work 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM shifts, handling crisis intervention and acute psychotic cases within an inpatient mental health unit.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain overall clinical responsibility for the mental health programs within the facility.
• Oversee the completion of mental health screenings and evaluations.
• Perform sick call visits and chronic care visits.
• Conduct rounds in all units.
• Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement a treatment plan, and evaluate/modify therapeutic regimens to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational training activities related to mental health care.
• This site has an inpatient mental health unit.
• Handle crisis intervention and acute psychotic cases.
• Refer to psychiatrists for further assessment if needed.
