Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Urgent Care Needed in California

We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 70-day assignment in California. This role requires an experienced provider to independently manage a high volume of high-acuity urgent care cases. The schedule involves working either three 12-hour shifts (Saturday through Monday) or four 10-hour shifts (Saturday through Tuesday), with weekends required. Responsibilities include performing patient evaluations, efficiently managing a wide range of urgent care cases, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation, alongside performing various procedural skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Independently manage a wide range of high-volume, high-acuity Urgent Care cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Efficiently manage various Urgent Care cases.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Perform required procedural skills including laceration repair and suturing.
• Execute ingrown toenail removal procedures.
• Conduct fracture evaluation and management.
• Perform incision and drainage (I&D) procedures.
• Utilize on-site diagnostic services such as STAT laboratory testing, X-ray, CT scan, and Ultrasound.

• Board Certifications: Emergency Medicine, Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP), Urgent Care
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Outpatient (Clinic Only)
• Patients per day: 3 patients/hour
• LOA: 70 Days
• Schedule: Working either three 12-hour shifts (Saturday through Monday) or four 10-hour shifts (Saturday through Tuesday), with weekends required.
