Locum Tenens Physician - Anesthesiologist Needed in NY

Job Description

We are seeking an Anesthesiologist in New York for a 260-day assignment. The successful Physician will provide comprehensive anesthesiology care, including operative services across various surgical specialties and managing patients in clinical settings. This role involves supervising CRNAs and providing services in operating rooms, GI, Cath Lab, and IR, typically during regular daytime shifts on a monthly schedule.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive clinical Anesthesiology services.
• Be present on time for all scheduled surgeries in the operating room.
• Deliver operative services for patients undergoing general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, GYN, plastics, vascular surgery (including carotid, endarterectomy, angioplasty, aneurysm repair, endovascular, peripheral angioplasty, AV access for dialysis), podiatry, and urology operations.
• Provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal, and radiological suites.
• Offer coverage as needed for patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.
• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside or via e-consults.
• Perform ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia.
• Supervise CRNAs in a 1:3 model.

• Required Board Certifications: Anesthesiology
• Work Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient surgical settings, including operating rooms, GI, Cath Lab, and IR.
• Cases per month: Approximately 350
• Staffing Mix: 3 Anesthesiologists with 10 CRNAs, with anesthesiologists rarely performing their own cases.
• Shift hours: 0700 – 1530 EST
