Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Physician Assistant for an exciting 80-day locum tenens assignment with our esteemed client in California, starting Aug 24, 2026. This pivotal role involves a dynamic schedule of 4 10-hour shifts, focusing on comprehensive patient assessments, accurate diagnosis, the development of evidence-based treatment plans, and active management of inpatient cardiology patients, including daily rounding and care plan adjustments.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage inpatient cardiology patients through daily rounding, monitoring progress, and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and results.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, including patient education and follow-up.
  • Complete timely, accurate medical documentation and maintain problem lists.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, therapists, social services, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Facilitate patient education, discharge planning, and specialty referrals.
  • Ensure compliance with California NP regulations, hospital policies, and CMS billing requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement, outcomes tracking, research, and professional development.
