Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine Needed in Pennsylvania

We are seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our client's team in Pennsylvania for a 90-day assignment starting Jul 1, 2024. This role involves covering various shifts including 7a-3p, 11a-8p, 3p-12a, and 10p-7a, with an anticipated 5 days on/5 days off schedule. The physician will provide comprehensive emergency care, performing procedures such as moderate sedation, central line placements, bedside ultrasound, nasotracheal intubation, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, minor laceration repairs, and splinting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform moderate sedation
• Place central lines
• Utilize bedside ultrasound
• Conduct nasotracheal intubation
• Perform thoracentesis
• Place chest tubes
• Execute rapid sequence intubation
• Perform minor laceration repairs
• Conduct splinting
• Manage an average of 4 admissions while on call

Additional Information

• Board Certifications: Emergency Medicine
• EMR: Epic
• Requirements: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Work Setting: Emergency Room with an annual volume of 31,000; no trauma center; ICU and pediatric Abs unit available; Tele Stroke services available
• Patients per day volume: Average 1-2 patient arrivals per hour
• LOA: 90 days
• Staffing Mix: 1-2 APPs per shift until 4 am, with the physician working alone from 4 am-7 am; 1 physician per shift
