Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine Needed in South Dakota

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in South Dakota. This 35-day assignment begins Nov 16, 2024, offering night shifts from 8 PM to 8 AM and day shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM. The role involves providing comprehensive emergency medicine care, including advanced procedures like intubation and line placement, evaluating and stabilizing acute medical conditions, and managing patient transfers as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive emergency medicine care, including intubation, ventilation management, line placement, and other ER procedures.
• Evaluate and stabilize patients presenting with acute medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, stroke, and other emergencies.
• Stabilize and transfer patients requiring a higher level of care.
• Manage OB emergencies and deliveries when needed, with transfer options available via Life Flight for higher-level care.

• Call Schedule: No Call
• Patients per day: Approximately 1 patient per hour per provider, with an annual ED volume of 14,800.
• LOA: 35 Days
• Staffing Mix: The locum acts as the solo physician, supported by an APP (7 PM–7 AM), an additional APP (starting at 7 AM), two MFA's, four RN's, and a mid-shift MD until 12 AM.
