Job Description

Our client in GA is seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for an impactful 148-day assignment starting Aug 5, 2026. This role involves comprehensive surgical assisting exclusively within the operating room, covering a wide range of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Enjoy a schedule focused on non-urgent cases, with no outpatient clinic duties or call expectations, though some cases may extend past 5 PM.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide surgical assistance in the operating room for a variety of cases.
  • Focus primarily on General Surgery, with additional support in Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
  • Collaborate with a surgical team including surgeons, scrub technicians, circulating registered nurses, and certified registered nurse anesthetists.
  • Manage a daily census of 10-30 scheduled non-urgent cases, contributing to an average of 90-110 cases per week.
  • Maintain an OR-only focus, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities.
  • Work schedule typically extends to 5 PM, with occasional cases running until 6 or 7 PM; no call is expected.


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certifications: Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
  • EMR: Epic.
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days.
