Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Surgeon Physician for a focused 13-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Nov 4, 2026. This vital role requires 24-hour shifts, from 7a - 7a, primarily providing solo inpatient and outpatient call coverage, including nights and weekends. The physician will manage a variety of surgical cases, oversee outpatient clinic volumes of up to 25 patients daily, handle up to 8 elective surgical cases, and respond to consults and procedures within the ED during call.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient call coverage.
  • Serve as solo call coverage (1:1).
  • Cover nights and weekends.
  • Manage outpatient clinic volumes of up to 25 patients per day.
  • Perform up to 8 elective surgical cases per day.
  • Maintain an average total surgical inpatient census of 2 patients.
  • Handle an average of 1 admission per day.
  • May require ICU/Critical Care duties.
  • Will not be required to respond to codes.
  • Cover consults and procedures in the ED during call.
  • Perform procedures including upper and lower scopes, gall bladder removal, appendix removal, food bolus removal, bowel obstruction repair, and hernia repair.
