Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician to join our client in Illinois for a 190-day assignment starting Sep 4, 2026. This nocturnist role involves a 10 on 10 off schedule, working 7P-7A, and focuses on admissions, particularly to the ICU, and critical response duties, providing essential support to patient care throughout the night.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work a nocturnist schedule of 10 days on, 10 days off.
  • Manage an average of 10 admissions per night.
  • Admit patients to the ICU at night; after admission, patient management transitions to Sound tele until the intensivist begins duty the following morning.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on admissions, with flexibility for the physician to decide how duties are shared.
  • Respond to Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) and codes.
  • Run codes if ED physicians are simultaneously occupied; otherwise, ED physicians are contracted to run codes.
  • Perform hospital rounding duties.
  • Procedures are not required for this role.
