Locum Tenens Physician - Internal Medicine Needed in New York

Our client in New York seeks a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician for an immediate start, committing to a 140-day assignment. The role involves a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, balancing 36 clinical hours with 4 administrative hours. This position focuses on delivering comprehensive general primary care and preventative medicine, including the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and geriatric care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive primary and preventative care.
• Diagnose and treat diseases including Hypertension, Diabetes, Geriatric care, COPD, and Thyroid disease.
• Manage a patient volume of approximately 20 office visits per day, scheduled in 15 and 30-minute increments.
• Work collaboratively with 2 advanced practice providers (APPs).
• Participate in an occasional 1:10 phone call rotation, with nursing triage limiting call volume.
• Maintain a Monday-Friday schedule, dedicating 36 hours to clinical duties and 4 hours to administrative tasks.

Additional Information

• Board Certifications: Required in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• EMR: Epic.
• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Work Setting: Clinic and Call.
• Call Schedule: Out of House Call, occasional phone call (evening and weekend; triage provided by nursing) 1:10 rotation.
• Patients per day: Approximately 20+ patients per day.
• LOA: 140 Days.
• Staffing Mix: Supported by 2 APPs, office staff, and a tenured LPN; other physician specialists also work in this office.
