Job Description

Our client in California is seeking an experienced Neurological Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join their team for an 84-day locum tenens assignment, commencing Sep 7, 2026. This inpatient-only role involves a 24-hour call schedule (6a-6a), with no outpatient responsibilities. You will manage a diverse caseload of spinal and cranial procedures, including EVD placement, ICP monitor placement, and first assisting in surgical operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide inpatient-only care with no outpatient responsibilities.
• Be available for 24-hour call during shifts (6a-6a).
• Manage a caseload of approximately 85% spinal and 15% cranial cases.
• Perform EVD placement.
• Perform ICP monitor placement.
• First assist in spinal and cranial surgeries.

Additional Information

• Required Board Certifications: Neurological Surgery, Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC).
• EMR System: Cerner.
