Locum Tenens Physician - OB/GYN Needed in Illinois

Our client in Illinois is seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 12-day assignment. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities including seeing regular Ob/Gyn patients in the office, performing scheduled gynecology surgeries, delivering babies during the day, and taking weekday call. Coverage options include 24-hour shifts or overnight coverage Monday through Thursday with 24-hour coverage Friday through Sunday, requiring a 20-minute response time for out-of-house call.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive Ob/Gyn patient care in an office setting.
• Perform scheduled gynecology surgeries.
• Manage and deliver babies during daytime hours.
• Participate in weekday call rotations.
• Offer 24-hour coverage or overnight coverage Monday through Thursday, with 24-hour coverage Friday through Sunday.

• Staffing Mix: Clinic-Based Ob/Gyn Physicians handle inpatient duties, perform Gyn surgeries, and do deliveries Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM through 7:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to noon, in addition to seeing clinic patients during those times. CNMs perform deliveries Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM through 7:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to noon, and see clinic patients. A clinic-based physician will always be on call to handle any C-sections that arise during the day. An OB Hospitalist would manage C-sections after hours. Women’s Health APPs see clinic patients Monday through Friday and collaborate with office-based Ob/Gyn Physicians.
