Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a 15-day assignment starting Oct 1, 2026. This role involves 24hr call shifts, where the physician will round on patients, handle emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and be available for emergent GYN procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide patient rounds.
  • Manage emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries while on-call.
  • Perform emergent GYN procedures.
  • Conduct low-risk pregnancy care.
  • Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds, including Level I/Screening viability.
  • Interpret FHR (NST/CST/FSE).
  • Execute routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps procedures.
  • Make decisions for C-sections and perform complicated C-sections.
  • Manage breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
  • Perform repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Handle office/minor gynecology procedures such as IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
  • Perform open surgical gynecology procedures.
  • Conduct laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures including tubal ligation, LOAs, and chronal tubation.
  • Execute operative/major procedures including diagnostic cases like ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, and cystectomy.
  • Maintain Laser certification.
  • Collaborate with hospitalist, anesthesiology, and radiology support staff.
  • Facilitate transfers for high-risk deliveries as needed, given the facility's nursery.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • The EMR system utilized is Meditech EHR.
  • No recent or open malpractice cases are required; details must be included in the submission.
  • Case logs from the last 12 months, sourced from a hospital, are required.
