Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 4-day assignment in New Mexico, beginning Aug 15, 2026. This dynamic role requires you to manage a diverse patient population during 7:30a to 7:30p shifts, focusing on the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries. Key responsibilities include performing various procedures such as laceration repair and splinting, alongside effectively managing common urgent care conditions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Perform laceration repair, splinting, wound care, and other minor procedures.
  • Manage common urgent care conditions, including URI, flu, COVID, UTI, and orthopedic injuries.
  • Administer, dispense, and prescribe medications, including pediatric dose calculation.
  • Interpret EKGs, labs, and diagnostic studies.
  • Order imaging and lab work as needed.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
  • Provide thorough patient education and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Complete physicals and occupational medicine evaluations.
  • Conduct pelvic exams.
  • Monitor vitals and perform emergency condition screenings for patients aged 0-5 months.
  • Handle occupational medicine and workers compensation cases.
  • Perform incision and drainage of abscesses.
  • Remove foreign bodies.
  • Conduct point-of-care lab testing.
  • Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizers.
