Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Urgent Care Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for an immediate start upon credentialing in California. This 60-day assignment involves a schedule of 30-40 hours per week, including weekend availability, with shifts from 10:45 AM to 9:15 PM. The successful candidate will be working independently on typical urgent care cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work independent of MD supervision
• Manage typical urgent care cases
• Assess and treat vertical 3 patients
• Perform sutures
• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with chest pain, undifferentiated abdominal pain, pelvic exams, and respiratory illness
• Administer IV fluids and medications

Additional Information

• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Inpatient
• Call Schedule: No Call
• Patient Volume: Approximately 22 patients per shift
• LOA: 60 days
• Staffing Mix: MDs, nurses, ED Techs
