Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 56-day assignment in California, starting Sep 2, 2026. This role involves working independently of Physician supervision, handling low acuity Emergency Room cases with shifts from 10:45 AM – 9:15 PM. The caseload includes sutures, patients with chest pain, undifferentiated abdominal pain, pelvic exams, occasional vertical 3 patients, lacerations, eye exams with slit lamps, and headaches.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work independently of Physician supervision
  • Manage low acuity Emergency Room cases, functioning as a fast track Urgent Care to ER role with higher acuity patients than true Urgent Care
  • Perform sutures
  • Evaluate and treat patients with chest pain, including 40-year-olds
  • Assess undifferentiated abdominal pain
  • Conduct pelvic exams
  • Manage occasional vertical 3 patients
  • Address lacerations
  • Perform eye exams using slit lamps
  • Treat headaches
  • Authorize technicians to perform splints
