Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice Needed in California

Our client in California is actively seeking an experienced Family Practice Nurse Practitioner to join their team for a 120-day assignment. This engaging role involves working four ten-hour shifts per week on weekdays, providing comprehensive outpatient family medicine care. The ideal candidate will manage a wide scope of cases in a rural setting and must possess strong, non-negotiable wound care experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive outpatient family medicine care, addressing a wide scope of cases in a rural clinical setting.
• Manage chronic and acute conditions, including common illnesses, wellness checks, injury prevention, and general family practice needs.
• Perform essential wound care, including treatment of diabetic and venous stasis ulcers, applying hydrocolloid and hydrogel dressings, and Unna boots.
• Comfortably assess and treat patients across all age groups.
• Prescribe birth control, including proficiency in IUD insertions and removals.
• Conduct blood draws as needed.
• Evaluate and manage minor orthopedic cases.

• Setting: Outpatient (Clinic Only)
• Patients per day: 14-16
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, weekdays from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Call Schedule: No call required
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: 6 Physicians, 1 Physician Assistant, 1 RN per Provider, with Medical Assistants available
• Required Experience: Mandatory wound care expertise; proficiency in prescribing birth control including IUD insertions/removals; comfort seeing all ages; openness to discussing philosophy on Addiction Medicine.
