Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Family Practice Needed in California

Our client in California is actively seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive outpatient family medicine care, working four 10-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Physician Assistant will manage a wide scope of cases across all age groups, including critical wound care and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive family medicine outpatient clinic work in a rural setting, addressing a wide scope of cases.
• Manage general family medicine concerns such as colds, coughs, flu, wellness checks, injury, and prevention.
• Address chronic and acute cases, demonstrating comfort with a full scope of family practice work.
• Perform wound care, primarily for diabetic and venous stasis ulcers, utilizing hydrocolloid and hydrogel dressings and Unna boots.
• Conduct frequent blood draws.
• Comfortably assess and treat patients of all ages.
• Prescribe birth control, including performing IUD insertions and removals.
• Manage minor orthopedic cases as encountered.
