Our client in Massachusetts is actively seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician for a 60-day locum tenens assignment, commencing Jun 1, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive family practice care, including preventive services, acute care, and chronic disease management. The schedule offers shifts between 8:30 AM and 8:00 PM, with dedicated administrative time incorporated into patient care hours.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses.
  • Provide comprehensive preventive care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunizations, and screening tests.
  • Offer personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • Deliver acute care services.
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
  • Conduct patient appointments, generally 20 minutes, with extended 40-minute slots for procedures like Nexplanon and IUD insertions.

  • EMR System: Athenahealth
  • Administrative time allocated: 1 hour for every 4 hours of patient treatment.
  • Spanish speaking preference: While preferred, an on-site interpretation service is available, and some MAs are fluent in Spanish.
