Job Description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant for a 30-day assignment with our client in North Carolina, starting May 28, 2026. This role involves 100% outpatient clinical care within a symptom management clinic, focusing on hematology oncology patients with chemotherapy side effects. The schedule is typically 7:30 AM to 5 PM, with no call responsibilities.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 100% outpatient clinical care within a 12-bed symptom management clinic located inside the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Cancer Center.
  • Provide care for hematology oncology patients exhibiting symptoms related to acute side effects of chemotherapy, such as nausea, vomiting, dehydration, and fever.
  • Anticipated patient volume is 12-14 patients per day.
  • The assignment has no call responsibilities.
  • There are no critical care responsibilities.
  • Respond to patients who experience medication reactions in the nearby infusion suite.


Additional Information

  • BLS is required.
  • Board certification in Hematology is required.
  • The EMR system used is Epic.
