Job Description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic for an 80-day assignment in Ohio, starting Jul 6, 2026. This role involves 12-hour night call or day rounding, with shifts running 7a-5p for rounding or 5pm-7am for call. The successful candidate will handle routine cardiothoracic cases including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy, and VATS, with occasional ECMO and endoscopic vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding duties.
  • Manage shifts that include 7a-5p for rounding or 5pm - 7am for call.
  • For call shifts, remain within a 30-minute range from the hospital if local; otherwise, accommodations in a nearby hotel will be provided.
  • Respond to approximately 7% of calls received during shifts.
  • Handle most calls over the phone.
  • Expect to be called in approximately once every 10 shifts.
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Address occasional ECMO cases, excluding advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
  • Perform vein harvesting, utilizing Maquet Hemopro 2 for endoscopic procedures.
