Job Description

Our client is actively seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 192-day assignment in New Mexico, commencing Sep 7, 2026. This vital role involves providing comprehensive care during 8PM to 8AM shifts, primarily responsible for prescribing narcotics and serving as the most senior provider on site at night. You will manage a diverse patient population, addressing conditions ranging from common illnesses and injuries to chronic diseases, within a unique correctional facility setting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and manage the prescription of narcotics.
  • Serve as the most senior level provider on site during night shifts.
  • Administer daily doses.
  • Perform day-to-day assessments and intake screenings.
  • Provide care for patients presenting with conditions such as strep, cough, cold, warts, and hypertension.
  • Address the needs of patients with diabetes and cancer.
  • Handle Suboxone prescriptions.
  • Manage potential injuries within the inmate population.
  • Supervise daily detoxes for inmates.
