Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in MO

Job Description

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 27-day assignment in Missouri, commencing Sep 8, 2026. This role involves comprehensive OR and clinic responsibilities, including shifts from 0600-1830 and some weekend solo coverage. The successful candidate will focus on endovascular vein harvesting, assisting in ECMO cannulations, and managing pre/post-operative care for diverse cardiac surgery cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive care in both OR and clinic settings, including 4-hour clinic sessions daily.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH), with a target vein harvest time of 45-60 minutes.
• Assist in ECMO cannulations.
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including documentation.
• Participate in a range of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases such as CABG, Aortic dissection, and Impella placement and removal.
• Consult with 4-9 patients per day in the clinic.
• Provide solo coverage on weekends, with an attending physician available for support.

Additional Information

• Required Board Certification: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC)
• EMR System: Epic
• Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) and provide robust case logs.
• Radial harvest experience is preferred.
