Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment in Ohio, commencing Sep 3, 2026. This role involves a flexible schedule of 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM or 5 PM to 7 AM, focusing on routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valve procedures, complex aorta, lobectomy, VATS, and endoscopic vein harvesting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 12-hour night call coverage or day rounding
  • Manage shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM for rounding, or 5 PM to 7 AM for call
  • During call shifts, proximity to the hospital within a 30-minute range is required. If not local, accommodations will be provided nearby.
  • Expect a low call-in rate (approximately 7%), with most calls manageable remotely over the phone (estimated once per ten shifts).
  • Manage routine cardiothoracic cases including CABG, valve procedures, complex aorta, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
  • Provide occasional ECMO support; advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplant cases are not required.
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting, utilizing the Maquet Hemopro 2 system.
