Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Critical Care Medicine Needed in MD

Job Description

We are seeking a Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for a 2-day assignment in Maryland, starting Aug 8, 2026. This role involves night shifts from 7p to 7a, focusing on a mix of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) cases. The successful candidate will perform procedures such as central and arterial line placement, intubation, and managing dialysis catheters, with a strong emphasis on strong airway skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Mainly MICU cases, strong airway skills required
• Some SICU cases
• Ability to perform central and arterial line insertions; other line placements are a plus but not required
• Intubation skills are essential, particularly for night shifts when a pulmonary critical care physician may not be on the unit
• Placement and management of dialysis catheters
• Paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures are preferred
