Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Family Practice Needed in WA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment in Washington, starting May 11, 2026. This role involves comprehensive outpatient care, including preventative services, chronic disease management, and acute care for a diverse patient population. The schedule is typically 8 AM to 5 PM with an hour for lunch, focusing on continuity of care and supporting underserved health initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform primary care visits including preventative care, wellness exams, and chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
• Manage acute care cases such as minor injuries, infections, respiratory issues, and urgent walk-ins.
• Address behavioral health concerns like depression, anxiety, and provide substance use support as applicable.
• Provide basic GYN care, screenings, and family planning within scope.
• Conduct pediatric care including routine check-ups and manage common childhood illnesses if within provider scope.
• Handle typical Family Medicine cases including hypertension, diabetes, cold, flu, strep, and ear infections.
• Perform procedures such as toenail removal, suturing, I&Ds, Nexplanon insertion and removal (with onsite training), wound care, and wart removal.
• Participate in the MAT program.
• Provide comprehensive outpatient care with a focus on continuity and access.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions across a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate with on-site clinical staff and support care coordination efforts.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR and comply with clinic protocols.
• Support underserved/tribal health initiatives with culturally competent care.
