Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for a 48-day assignment in Oklahoma, commencing on Jun 1, 2026. Our client requires coverage Monday through Thursday, with shifts lasting 8-10 hours daily, including call and occasional after-hours contact. This role involves providing comprehensive care, managing chronic conditions for post-acute/nursing home patients, supervising healthcare staff, conducting rounds, and meticulously documenting patient encounters.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work with Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, manage chronic conditions, and ensure the overall well-being of residents.
- Provide medical orders, medical direction, medical care services, consultation, and supervision of the healthcare staff and chart review.
- Be available through direct telecommunication for consultation, assistance with medical emergencies, or patient referral.
- Perform rounds in the facility to include obtaining a history from the patient and supplemental sources, performing an exam and documenting findings within an electronic medical record.
- Organize a rounding schedule, notes, labs and imaging reports in the EHR for patients seen within the practice.
- Communicate with the Director of Nursing or floor nurses before and after rounds to obtain his/her concerns and to relay any new orders to them. New orders should be written at the time of rounds in order for those orders to become activated.
- Be the first point of contact for the nurses if questions arise on patients seen. This will require occasional after hours calls and/or texts.
- Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.
- Manage special projects and duties as assigned.
Additional Information
- Board Certification in Family Medicine is required.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR.
- Cases include managing chronic conditions for post-acute/nursing home patients.
- Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8-10 hours per day, with call.
