Job Description

Our client in Washington is seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist to begin a 90-day assignment on Jul 6, 2026. This vital role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including 24-hour call, hospital rounding, performing 5 MAC cases, and executing a wide range of gastroenterology procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and ERCPs to support patient needs.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, including taking 24-hour call and hospital rounding.
  • Perform various gastroenterology procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and ERCP.
  • Execute specialized procedures including Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices.
  • Conduct ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Perform PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy), esophageal dilatation/manometry, and small bowel biopsy.
  • Carry out Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision.
  • Utilize Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), liver biopsy, and manage Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertions.
  • Oversee 5 MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) cases.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology required.
  • Experience with Epic EMR system.
  • Fellowship trained.
  • Proficiency in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology specialty skills.
