Locum Tenens Physician - Neonatologist Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Neonatologist for a 21-day assignment in California, commencing Jan 1, 2027. This role involves providing specialized care for newborns in an inpatient NICU setting, primarily covering night shifts through 12-hour rotations (8 AM–8 PM and 8 PM–8 AM) for approximately 5–7 consecutive shifts each month.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive care for newborns in an inpatient NICU setting
• Manage NICU cases, requiring relevant experience
• Work 12-hour shifts, including 8 AM–8 PM and 8 PM–8 AM rotations
• Primarily cover night shifts for approximately 5–7 consecutive shifts per month
• Perform PICC Line placements
• Execute intubations
• Manage UA/UV placements
• Perform chest tube placements
• Conduct catheterizations
• Perform needle aspirations
• Manage high-risk deliveries and c-sections
• Address cleft palate and cleft lip conditions
• Treat complex birth defects
• Manage respiratory conditions
• Handle diaphragmatic hernias
• Address genetic disorders and malformations
• Participate in high-risk infant follow-up programs
• Care for infants of diabetic mothers
• Manage intestinal obstructions
• Treat omphalocele
• Provide care for prematurity
• Address primary metabolic defects
• Manage spinal cord defects
• Participate in therapeutic hypothermia programs for birth asphyxia treatment
• Perform tracheostomy procedures
• Provide ventilatory support
