Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 6-day locum tenens assignment with our client in North Carolina, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This vital role involves 24-hour call shifts, from 8 AM to 8 AM, where you will round on patients, manage emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and be available for urgent gynecological procedures, ensuring comprehensive patient care.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients.
  • Be on-call for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Be available for any emergent GYN procedures.
  • Manage emergent high-risk deliveries (no NICU at the facility).
  • Perform low risk pregnancy care.
  • Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds.
  • Conduct routine deliveries including vaginal, low forceps, and decision-making for c-section.
  • Manage complicated deliveries such as C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
  • Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Perform office/minor gynecology procedures including IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
  • Conduct surgical gynecology (open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only) including tubal ligation, LOAs, and chronal tubation.
  • Perform operative/major gynecology procedures including diagnostic ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOAs.
  • Possess Laser certification.


Additional Information

  • Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • EMR: Meditech EHR.
  • Cases will involve rounding on patients, being on-call for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and availability for emergent GYN procedures. High risk deliveries are exclusively emergent, as there is no NICU at the facility.
  • The provider will be working within a facility equipped with 3 labor rooms and 14 postpartum beds.
