Job Description

Our client in Texas is actively seeking a highly skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for an engaging 60-day locum tenens assignment, commencing on Jun 1, 2026. This vital role focuses on delivering comprehensive outpatient OB/GYN medical care, encompassing patient examination, diagnosis, treatment, medication prescription, and the essential supervision of mid-level practitioners. Scheduled shifts are typically 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring consistent patient access and continuity of care within a dedicated clinic environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide outpatient medical care in the clinic.
  • Maintain medical expertise and competency, delivering quality primary medical care.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat, and refer patients for appropriate specialty care services.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend other forms of treatment.
  • Timely review all lab and x-ray reports, making appropriate medical management decisions.
  • Maintain problem-oriented health records in accordance with established policies.
  • Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
  • Refer clients for appropriate ancillary services, ensuring comprehensive patient management.
  • Educate and support patients, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patient needs.
  • Provide direct supervision, assignment, monitoring, and clinical direction to mid-level practitioners.
  • Serve as a proactive leader for the department.
  • Participate in peer review and quality control processes.
  • Contribute to the review and development of patient care policies.
  • Ensure patient and family education regarding diagnosis and care plans.
  • Participate in the evaluation of products, procedures, and patient care standards.
  • Attend and participate in required clinic meetings, workshops, and functions.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Participate in all safety programs.
