Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for a 32-day assignment in Texas, starting Aug 3, 2026. This role involves 1.5 FTE coverage in a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, managing congenital and acquired heart disease patients pre and post-op, with shifts Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM, and weekends 8 AM to 9 PM. Our client is the only heart transplant program in the region, offering a unique opportunity to provide care for patients referred for heart failure management including ventricular assist device placement and heart transplantation.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 1.5 FTE coverage in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
  • Work within a CICU, which includes a step-down acute care cardiology unit.
  • Manage a patient population with congenital and acquired heart disease in both pre and post-operative periods, as well as through medical management.
  • Care for patients referred for heart failure management, including ventricular assist device placement and heart transplantation.
  • Work Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 8 PM, with weekend shifts from 8 AM to 9 PM.
