Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatrician for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Oregon, commencing Nov 9, 2026. This role involves a blend of clinic responsibilities during typical hours, seeing a diverse pediatric patient population for well-child visits, acute care, and behavioral management. The position also includes rotating call, requiring nursery rounds, delivery attendance when indicated, and managing after-hours parent calls to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- See 13–15 patients per day on call days; approximately 20 patients per day on non-call days
- Manage a mix of well-child checks, acute visits, and behavioral/ADHD management
- Provide care for patients ranging from newborn through 17 years old
- Conduct typical visit lengths of 20- and 40-minute appointments
- Fulfill inpatient and nursery duties for call coverage, including newborn nursery census of 1–5 babies per day
- Address rare inpatient pediatric admissions (typically older adolescents, 0–1 per day)
- Attend deliveries only when indicated by OB/FBC staff or high-risk criteria
- Handle parent calls after hours, averaging 0–10 per night, with higher volume in winter months

- Required Board Certifications: Pediatrics
- EMR: Cerner
- Shift hours: 9-5 in the clinic plus rotating call, including attending deliveries and rounding on newborns as part of the call schedule
- Type of cases include: Majority outpatient with well-child visits, developmental/ADHD follow-ups, and acute visits (respiratory, GI, ear infections, rashes, etc.); Inpatient/Nursery (call) with newborn assessments, discharges, and delivery attendance when indicated, along with occasional adolescent admissions; After-hours/Call cases involve parent phone calls for routine pediatric concerns, newborn nursery rounding, and rare inpatient follow-up.
